Chikan is a delicate and artfully done hand embroidery on a variety of textile fabrics like muslin, silk, chiffon, organza, net, etc. White thread is embroidered on cool, pastel shades of light muslin and cotton garments. Chikan began as a form of white-on0white embroidery, but in recent times has adopted additional embellishments like Mukaish, Kamdani, Badla, sequin, bead, and mirror work. The most popular origin story credits Noor Jahan, Mughal empress and wife of Jahangir, with introducing chikankari to India.

Dry clean only. To protect the delicate threads of the sari, please avoid any pressure on the tips- avoid brush cleaning, or wringing. Iron on medium heat or spread a towel on top of the saree during ironing. Steam iron is recommended. It is ideal to dry clean stained silk sarees immediately. Unfold and change the fold of the silk sarees from time to time. This will help avoid tears and damage along the creases. Store your silk sarees by wrapping them in soft muslin clothes or fabric saree
